Nvidia is now a larger company than social media giant Meta. In a meteoric turn of events, Nvidia has surged to become the 7th largest company in the US, despite being nowhere close only a few years ago, and helped along by Meta's recent share price collapse.

Facebook and Instagram may be shut down across Europe, parent company Meta has said. The issue comes down to European data regulations that prevent Meta, the company formerly known as Facebook, from transferring, storing and processing Europeans’ data on US-based servers.

As Facebook shifts focus to building the "metaverse," lax moderation is already posing serious safety issues.

When tech founder Phil Libin donned his Oculus VR headset to try out Meta's first metaverse product, he was hoping it wouldn't be terrible. "I had a very, very strong feeling that it would suck, but I went into it with as much hope as possible that I would be pleasantly surprised," Libin said in an interview with Insider.

In November 2020, Facebook announced they were switching their brand name to Meta, and unveiled their new vision for the future of their platform in an announcement video. Zuckerberg has described the Metaverse as “internet that you’re inside of, rather than just looking at,” and the video focused heavily on VR and mixed reality / augmented reality technology.
