So... What is your take on the Di Maria situation?

The deal seems to be almost done.. Sad that it has come to this!

I would have liked if he stayed on for another year at least. Yeah he didn't play all that well last season and was kept out of the team by Young, but there were moments.

In saying that, if the rumours are true and he's pushing to leave, I'd rather we sold him. Don't want someone who doesn't want to be here. It just sucks that it has to be at a loss.

TBH this doesn't feel as bad as Falcao leaving.. At least Falcao gave his everything in all the games he played. Di Maria had moments of brilliance in games but then he would waddle around the pitch uninterested or just run into the opposition defender with the ball. Every. Single. Time. If it is true that he is indeed pushing for this move, it looks like it is as time goes on(not joining the team as he was expected to), then this is truly unprofessional on his part.

I liked Falcao, and wouldn't have minded if he signed for another six months/year on loan to see if things worked out. Makes it worse that he's gone to Chelsea.

I'm not a big fan of players who are unprofessional. There's an interesting discussion on reddit.com/r/reddevils about how Rojo basically did the same thing when trying to push for a move. My logic is that if he can do it to his previous club, what's stopping him from doing the same thing if/when he doesn't get his way here?
