'Hero' admits stealing from blast victims
A homeless man who stole a purse and a phone from victims of the Manchester Arena attack has admitted theft. Chris Parker, 33, was initially dubbed a hero after claiming he comforted a seriously injured girl. CCTV footage played to Manchester Crown Court showed him wandering between stricken victims. He kept returning to injured Pauline Healey, whose granddaughter lay dying nearby, before leaning over her and taking her handbag to steal her purse.

CCTV shows gang chasing 18-year-old murder victim through Manchester
Eleven members of gang who hunted down and killed a teenager in Manchester have been found guilty of carrying out the "vicious" attack. Defendants aged between 15 and 21 chased Abdulwahab Hafidah for more than five miles along busy roads in the evening rush hour on 12 May last year. The 18-year-old told a passer-by “help me, they’re going to kill me” moments before he was cornered, Manchester Crown Court heard.

Islamophobic attacks in Manchester surge by 500% after arena attack
Islamophobic attacks soared more than 500% in Greater Manchester after the suicide bombing at an Ariana Grande concert last month, police have said. There were 224 reports of anti-Muslim hate crimes in the month after the attack compared with 37 in the same period in 2016, official figures show.

US singer Ariana Grande has visited fans injured in last month's terror attack at her Manchester concert. The star spent time with youngsters at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital in a surprise appearance ahead of a benefit concert on Sunday. Adam Harrison said his daughter Lily "felt like a rock star" after meeting her idol.

Thousands of rare records have been found - and they're being given away
Record collectors have flocked to a derelict Manchester shop where thousands of rare and antique records are being given away for free. Everything from Bob Marley LPs to Jimi Hendrix singles have been discovered within the haul of around 50,000 records in Newton Heath. Haulage collectors clearing out the store have been inundated with collectors and vinyl enthusiasts hoping to pick up something rare.

Justice vs Simian - We are your Friends
In 2006, the single "We Are Your Friends", which is a remix of their song "Never Be Alone", was released on a reactivated Virgin Records subsidiary label called Ten Records. This single was credited to "Justice vs Simian", and started life as a submission by the French electrohouse outfit Justice in a remix competition.
