Community App Construction (IDEA)

As has been mentioned a number of times already, the site that will attract the most users coming from Reddit will be the one with the best mobile and desktop app compatibility.

What I suggest is that all of us on here that have some idea what they're doing in this field band together and produce these apps, starting with the up and coming Windows 10.

If a public API could be made available, we could start a project and instead of the admins/moderators having to do it all themselves, we could help them out!

If you'd like to contribute to the project, please post a comment with your background/expertise/qualifications (you know what I mean). If the admins/moderators could chime in and help us find a direction, that would be great!

Beginning with Windows 10 is only an idea as I believe it will be attract a huge userbase in the coming month. Feel free to recommend any other platform that we could begin with.

I'm not sure how many hours I can contribute, but...

Qualifications: spring, jquery, django, jaxrs, extensive but general java experience, good c++ knowledge, python experience. I am working on expanding python experience, learning nodejs. I also have light experience with databases (sql variants, mongo).

Honestly, the magic bullet won't be getting the talent but setting up the plan for tackling this task as well as keeping it alive. What we need is a select few people, at least 3 I'd say, to spearhead the project, plan it out, keep it on track and continuously generate hype. If we don't have a plan to keep this potentially sprawling project under control and people to keep the dream alive, I'm not optimistic for the app.
