Testing the waters

Hello! Like many new folks who have recently joined, I am here from Reddit, but I wouldn't call myself a refugee. I don't plan on abandoning Reddit, as there are still communities that I am involved in that use it exclusively, but I really like the concept behind this site: it seems like the ability to make really high-quality posts is much better and more encouraged than on Reddit.

So this is my trial run, I suppose. I look forward to learning more about this site and hopefully becoming an active contributor to it!
