A modest proposal for my fellow reddit expatriates
Hey guys. I'm one of the people who left reddit for Snapzu, and I understand your enthusiasm... But can we agree not to flood Snapzu with talks of reddit?
I feel like I'm with this fantastic new girl, but all I can talk about is how much better she is than my ex. Let's agree to forget the ex for a little while, and just spend time with this wonderful individual that is Snapzu!

Every time I see 'A Modest Proposal' in the title of a post I expect something else entirely. I agree though!
Wait, so we're not eating the babies?? Oops.

Really? What does that usually entail? I just didn't want to sound like I thought I necessarily knew best...
It's a book about babies.
'A Modest Proposal' is sometimes used by people when they suggest something ridiculous or obviously a bad idea. It's an allusion to a satirical piece of writing by Jonathan Swift: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Modest_Proposal
Aaaah... Thanks for telling me. :)
It's a great piece to read.
Anytime I see 'A Modest Proposal' I remember this part of a Sealab 2021 episode
Amen.
I agree!
I haven't really seen much of that outside of people's introductions so far, but I do agree with you as well.
I'm seeing a lot of reddit-related posts on the front page. It's not, like, super-annoying, but I just feel it's bad etiquette; that by joining Snapzu I should just shed my previous "reddit identity" and try to adapt to this new "culture."
I'm sure it's a phase, and it comes from a place of honest enthusiasm, so I'm not overly irritated by it!
Thanks for this. I want to experience their culture here.
Great suggestion. It's healthy to move on.
Haha, perfect analogy!
Love the analogy - very well put. I've been thinking this as well especially when browsing through newer posts. No doubt it will die down soon though.
I agree. However, history has shown that this only happens within the first couple of days of a new wave. It will die down once people adjust to the site.
You're probably right. I guess I'm just eager to see that page turned!
Agreed, but I think if you give it a week, talks of "I'm from Reddit!" will die down to basically nothing.
