Hi Guys, I'm new!

Hey!

Thanks for the invite code and thanks for having me. Quick question - What would make me use this site over Reddit?

Cheers

    Howdy!

The truth is that this community is still quite small. There are benefits to that, like a better content/shitpost ratio, a lot less memes, and (usually) better discussion in the comments. The drawback to that is there is a lot less content. At this stage in the community there is a lot you can do to make a difference, whereas on Reddit, you're basically just another brick in the wall.

I use this site in conjunction with Reddit because there are simply communities that exist there that don't here. However, as this community grows that will change. I don't know if I will ever personally abandon Reddit completely, but this is definitely a welcome change.

There is a lot of opportunity here to be involved in community building and that really attracts me to it.

      Hi Tawsix!

Thanks for the detailed reply, I certainly appreciate it. I've noticed a lot less negativity here than Reddit which is great. I assume this may be due to the less-Anonymity styled comments due to a smaller community.

The issues currently as you've stated is a lack of content - Surely the active posters are just going to repost threads they've seen on Reddit. I plan on frequenting both if the content is different as I'd rather not see duplicated content.

I'm still getting my head around the layout of things but I'm liking it so far. I've even made a tribe for my gaming Community (now I just need codes! )

There's no reason to assume that. You'll find that Snapzu is its own entity, unlike many reddit alternatives. See you around :)

Hi Moderator! Thanks for your reply - I'm new to the whole Reddit-Alternative thing, so I'm looking forward to experiencing my first with SnapZu.

At first I thought that would be a problem, and maybe some people are just yanking content off Reddit, but the frontpage of Reddit and the frontpage of Snapzu don't usually share too many stories. Of course some of the big news items will show up on both, Reddit and Snapzu are content aggregation websites after all, but I haven't gotten the impression so far that there is a lot of content overlap. Like I said, I use Reddit mostly for the niche communities that don't exist here yet, so I'm sure that's one reason I don't seem to have that perception.
