The case of falsely named trillions, part one: a small rant by the billions.
So, what's up with the misuse (and abuse) of the word "trillion". That is in the correct nomenclature a one with 18 zeroes. A million is just that: a thousand thousands. A billion is a million-million, hence the "bi", and a trillion is a one with three millions worth of zeroes. So there. In the Dutch language, one that I love since it is my native tongue and especially love for it's solutions to an ever increasing Anglo-saxon-pollution, albeit sneakily imported from/by the Romans: miljard or your billion. A one with nine zeroes. A lousy thousand millions. Anyways, it had to be said one day. Just as with the metric system, it is kinda hard isn't it?
