Working on some RES-style features. Unfortunately there are a lot of things that can't be done without an API. The code to do just this is quite the hack, for lack of a better term. Happy to post source code once I've got something I am happy with.

Text posts can now be expanded on the front page, with tribe expanding support just a step away. I haven't decided on a name, but Snapzu Enhancement sounds just fine to me!

People can use extensions like imagus for chrome or firefox until it is finished.
Except that only opens the thumbnail unless there's a "via ____" link underneath it
I know there is a way to do that in the default reddit without RES too. IIRC. Yeah, just checked. You simply click the "play +" Icon and it shows in the same area like the gif you posted.

This would be a great feature. Another one would be some kind of indicator of which comments are new since the last time you viewed the thread. I don't think RES ever had that because it was a Reddit gold feature (? I never had gold so I really don't know).

My account had it. I never had gold either.
You can see how many new comments there are no matter what, but with Gold the new comments were highlighted so you wouldn't have to dig for them

I would prefer if this expansion type thing be part of the Snapzu site itself, instead of a third-party addon. I would suggest letting them know on /t/ideasforsnapzu and see what kind of response you get.

This is excellent! You should really create a tribe for your enhancement suite, though. /t/lounge is probably fine for this announcement but further progress should be posted to a more relevant tribe, I would think. Just a suggestion though.

I am not sure if this is possible with the enhancement suite but another feature you might consider is making the up vote score visible on your feed. I can't see how many up votes anything has gotten on my feed unless I click on the post and view the thread.
Votes aren't exposed by default so without an API it's a little tricky... but then again, so is getting the image/text/video ;)
I would ADORE the expansion of the text posts.
Mostly I need the ability to scroll through a list of snaps of animals with pictures as it is frequently requested by my kids. Right now I have to go back to /r/aww on ... that other site ...

I wish there was a way to open links in a new window when I click on the title of a snap thingy instead of going to the comments page where I have to click the link there. Not all posts have via links it seems, would love to make those links default outgoing links as an option.
What you're calling the comments page is the snap. Snaps are much more general than a main link, so sometimes you'll find that the snap has more single link out like a Reddit post. If you prefer to not see snaps, though, go to your avatar on the upper right, to Settings, Preferences, and check the option “Take me directly to exterior content when viewing link posts.”
