Lesbians 'told they did not need cervical screening'
Women who have sex with women are often wrongly told they do not need a cervical screening test, say LGBT groups. This results in half of all eligible lesbian and bisexual women never having had a smear test, they said. The human papilloma virus (HPV), which causes most cervical cancers, can be transmitted through lesbian sex.

Malta just became the first country in Europe to ban 'gay cure' therapy
Malta has made history as the first European country to ban gay conversion therapy. The island nation passed the bill that will mean any medical professional found guilty of prescribing the so-called ‘gay cure’ therapy could be jailed. Politicians voted through the Affirmation of Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Gender Expression Bill, labelling gay cure therapy as “deceptive and harmful”.

Louisiana governor signs order protecting LGBT rights
Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards signed an anti-discrimination order on Wednesday protecting the rights of gay and transgender people, aligning his state on the liberal side of a political divide playing out across the U.S. South. The Democrat's executive order also protects state employees against discrimination based on other criteria including race, religion, disability or age. It bans state agencies from discrimination, while offering an exemption for churches and religious organizations.
