Dick Assman, the Regina gas station worker whose surname led to a brief stint on David Letterman's late-night talk show, has died at age 82. Assman, who was born in Neudorf, Sask., in 1934, died on Monday. He worked as a manager, mechanic and gas attendant at service stations in Saskatchewan his whole life.

Jimmy Kimmel Renews ABC Deal for Three Years
Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel has has renewed his deal with ABC for an additional three years. ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey announced the deal from the stage at the network’s upront presentation in New York. The new agreement extends the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” host’s contract with the network through fall, 2019. Kimmel is in his 14th season hosting ABC’s late-night comedy talk show. He is also set to host the 2016 Primetime Emmy Awards Sept. 18.
