Apple Releases Important iOS 11.3.1 Update: What Features Are Included?
Today Apple released iOS 11.3.1 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. iOS 11.3.1 did not go through any beta testing before it became available to the public today. And iOS 11.3.1 is considered a minor update as it contains smaller bug fixes rather than new features. iOS 11.4 is currently being beta tested and that update will include AirPlay 2 and Messages on iCloud.

Apple kills Valve's Steam Link iOS app, but you can still stream PC games to Android
Valve’s in-home streaming tech is proving to be its most forward-thinking development. First it helped kill off the company’s own short-lived Steam Machines, with the $50 Steam Link perfectly capable of putting PC gaming in your living room without the need for another high-end PC. And now it’s putting PC gaming...well, anywhere you’d like. But probably the bathroom, if I know people.

iOS 12 Includes Setting to Disable USB Access When an iPhone Hasn't Been Unlocked for More Than an Hour
In iOS 12, there's a new setting that will effectively put an end to law enforcement access to iPhones and iPads using USB devices like the GrayKey box, preventing USB accessories from connecting when it's been more than an hour since the iPhone was last unlocked. Located under Touch ID & Passcode, the new setting, which requires a passcode to be entered to allow a USB accessory to connect after an hour, is enabled by default.

As the iPhone Gets 5 Years of Support, My Galaxy S9+ is Still Behind
Apple’s WWDC took place this week, not long after Google’s I/O conference. Each company spent time announcing their planned new features as well as new APIs, new apps, and new ideas. It isn’t a stretch to say that both Android and iOS have become advanced operating systems with complete and competitive feature sets. I’ve been running Android P on my Google Pixel 2 XL, and love it or hate it, a lot has changed in small but key areas of the user experience.

Valve Updates Steam Link iOS App to Remove Game Purchasing
Late last month we were lucky enough to be included in a TestFlight beta of Valve’s upcoming Steam Link app, and I posted a hands-on preview which basically can be summed up as: “I simply cannot believe how good this works." Well, not long after Apple rejected the app, due to “business conflicts" which were not originally realized by the App Review team.

Apple is rebuilding Maps from the ground up
I’m not sure if you’re aware, but the launch of Apple Maps went poorly. After a rough first impression, an apology from the CEO, several years of patching holes with data partnerships and some glimmers of light with long-awaited transit directions and improvements in business, parking and place data, Apple Maps is still not where it needs to be to be considered a world class service. Maps needs fixing.

Adobe will reportedly bring the full Photoshop to the iPad
Last year’s release of iOS 11 from Apple was all about turning the iPad into a full-fledged PC, but there remained a set of core desktop apps that were still stubbornly off Apple’s mobile platform, the full-fat version of Photoshop being key among them. Today, however, a report from Bloomberg reveals that Adobe is working on correcting that omission. Adobe is said to be planning to announce the release of the full version of Photoshop for the iPad in October of this year and to release the app in 2019.
