Reduced Image Compression for Banners/Flags

The image compression is pretty agressive and it really kills the banners/flags. If storage is the issue maybe offer an option to link to an external image hosting site such as Imgur?

Example:
Snapzu Banner - Compressed Size: 8kb

Imgur Hosted - Original Size: 70kb

I understand the reduction in filesize to increase load times, but the quality of the image is greatly reduced.

    I agree. It's really noticeable with gradients. I saw a lot of pixel artifacting on mine. Photographs not so much, but still apparent.
