Town repurposes plastic bottles to make Christmas tree
This year, the Estonian town of Viimsi, just outside the capital Tallinn, decided it was time to make Christmas more relevant, and green. Instead of the traditional pine tree, an installation of plastic containers is taking centre stage in the town's Christmas celebrations. Teet Suur, the artist behind the environmentally-friendly installation, says the inspiration came from his local petrol station, where window washing liquid, usually available in 5l plastic containers, is now readily available from pumps that go straight into the car.

This B.C. paper ran an ad for 'pictures with Satan' instead of Santa (VIDEO)
While one beloved B.C. mall Santa lost his job due to questionable photos, an advertisement for pictures with a different jolly man has come under fire. The ad, which ran in the Comox Valley Record’s Nov. 21 edition, features the Comox Valley Christmas Parade at 2 p.m. on Dec. 1 in large writing. On the right side, the ad shows a few events that will take place in the Native Sons Hall. The first is the “Gnarly Christmas Fair” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by “Captain Thunderpants” at 10:30 a.m. Last, but certainly not least, is the in-famous copy for “Pictures with Satan” at 11:15 a.m.

Want to be Santa? Be ready for tough questions and heartbreaking requests
Santa and Mrs. Claus drove their red Dodge Grand Caravan with the "Kringle" license plate from Myrtle Beach, S.C., to a Hampton Inn near Tampa International Airport last weekend. There they paid $299 to attend a two-day school for Santas. In the hotel's meeting room, two dozen older, naturally bearded men, and one "Clark Kent," the industry term for fake beard wearers, sat in reindeer bowling shirts and red leather cowboy boots.
