So for Halloween we are hosting a D&D 5th edition game. 1st step is to create a theme. Halloween! Done! Nope, that’s not enough. So I’d like to make it scary, and also this really is initiatory, so it doesn’t have to be overly complicated. How about find and defeat the evil in the Haunted House. What is the Evil, well I will need to figure all of this out as I build this up.

Is trick-or-treat over?

Bradbury’s knack for that stuff that makes your neck hair prickle goes beyond Halloween itself, of course, and he wields it in his science fiction and stories of just-beyond-the-everyday, as well. So as October comes to a close, here are ten Bradbury works (two books and eight short stories, all of which are anthologized and easy to find) that perfectly fit the season’s lengthening nights.

Since Halloween is just around the corner, I figured I’d put together a list of a few movies that really embody the spirit of the holiday, at least in my mind. These are movies that feature monsters, ghost stories, candy, costumes, and pretty much everything else that one could want. I also tried to go for a range of styles. That way, you can choose to laugh, scream, or watch something with your kids. Halloween is meant to be shared!

You won't find me revisiting a lot of famous, respected and beloved horror movies when the season of the witch rolls around. No 'Exorcist.' No 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre.' None of those brutal French or Japanese movies that horror buffs like to spring on their unsuspecting friends. The Halloween season brings out something different in me. It focuses my tastes for 31 days. I don't spend my October watching tons of horror movies, I like to spend my October watching tons of Halloween movies.

There aren't many horror movies coming out this October,but we thought we'd tell you about the ones that are! Which one are you looking forward to the most?

Last year, the Denver Police Department and Smart Colorado, an organization concerned about youth access to marijuana, hyped up the possibility of pot edibles being handed out to Halloween trick-or-treaters. Afterward, as we pointed out, the number of reports about such issues topped out at zero — meaning that there were no incidents of individuals passing out THC-enfused sweets to random kids.

This trick-or-treater didn’t realize that her tricks were being caught on film. When a family knew they weren’t going to be home on Halloween night, they decided to leave candy outside for kids to help themselves to. They also chose to put the treats in plain view of a camera. Several children come and go before an adult woman shows up and sees the generous offering. She ends up taking the remainder of the candy.

Halloween is a time for scary fun, but some revellers perhaps get into the spirit too much. These hilarious mugshots, taken by police departments across America over the last few years, show people arrested in eye-catching costume or make-up.
