I tend to see these things in term of show recordings, and therefore in terms of periods of time. For me, it's 72' (usually the Complete Europe '72 recordings) or Spring '77 (5.07.77 is probably my most-played show).
But... One From the Vault has also been a faithful companion, as have a few '87 shows where Jerry is really feelin' healthy, and some early Brent-era ('79-'80) shows where the band sounds excited to explore its new chemistry.
