With CD Projekt Red only showing gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 to the media behind-closed-doors at E3 and Gamescom this year, gamers have been dying to get a first look at what’s next from the developer of The Witcher and Gwent. Naughty Dog: Ellie is the Only Playable Character in The Last of Us Part II
Naughty Dog seemed to have confirmed that Ellie will be the only playable character in The Last of Us Part II. During a behind closed door session which featured multiple developers from the game, when asked if there will be other playable characters other than Ellie, co-lead game designer, Richard Cambier, pitched in with the standard, “We aren’t saying anything about that yet.”

SimCity Creator Will Wright Announces New Game Proxi
Proxi, a new mobile game from legendary game designer Will Wright, was revealed today during Unity's keynote at Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2018. Square Enix will not add microtransactions to its single-player games
Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda told MCV that the company does not plan to implement microtransactions to its “console” games. Yosuke Matsuda claimed that players have different expectations for console – and PC – games and microtransactions simply do not fit. “The way that console games are made, the volume of content, and how much effort goes into them, there’s something in that which doesn’t fit in the mind with microtransactions.”

This Dumb Industry: No, We Didn’t Beat EA
So over the past week the big story has been the massive backlash against EA for the loot box mechanics on Star Wars: Battlefront II. According to some very conservative estimates, it would take 40 hours of continuous play to unlock Darth Vader as a playable character. This is assuming you save every single point of in-game currency and don’t spend any of them on other things. Then you’d need another 40 hours to unlock Luke Skywalker. Even if you’re just going to save up for a simple loot box, it will take three hours of play.

Marvel Heroes Players Are Demanding Refunds For In-Game Purchases
A Marvel Heroes player who goes by EITTurtle bought the game on Xbox in July. Since then, he says he's sunk $US400 ($529) in microtransactions, unlocking characters such as Spider Man, Storm and Captain America. Earlier this week, Marvel announced that the game's servers will be shut down in December. And EITTurtle, like many other players, is now begging for a refund.
