He received an onslaught of coverage after PhillyVoice interviewed him at work at the corner of 15th and Walnut streets one winter day, landed an appearance on the Rachael Ray Show, was the focus of a documentary and launched a multi-city tour.

Businessman to donate $50m for new children's hospital
Mark Dunajtschik signed an agreement with Capital & Coast District Health Board this morning to build the facility, which would have 50 inpatient hospital beds as well as space for families. Health Minister Jonathan Coleman welcomed the generosity of Mr Dunajtschik, who he said had been a substantial benefactor in the areas of health, sport and education for 40 years.

Friends of Fadumo Ahmed, 32, who lived on the 19th floor of the 24-storey block, feared the worst after hearing no news of her. However, it emerged today that she was pulled unconscious from the upper floors of the tower by a fireman, who saved her life.

In his late 90s, Russ Gremel decided it was time to donate $2 million worth of stock to the Illinois Audubon Society. Then, he went and adopted an elderly Chihuahua. Gremel, now 98 years old, said he decided to make the donation while he was still alive so he could be among those who spend time in the Gremel Wildlife Sanctuary. Gremel made this remarkable donation because he purchased $1,000 worth of Walgreens stock some seven decades ago.

Firefighters throw baby shower for woman who lost apartment in fire

Members of the Lauderhill Fire Department hosted the party after Nicola Taylor's apartment and baby gifts were destroyed in the blaze.
