EA is releasing the source code for two classic Command and Conquer games

Apex Legends datamine uncovers 8 new characters
The dataminers are still digging away at Apex Legends, and it looks like one may have struck gold. Seemingly eight new characters have been uncovered, along with icons, concept art and names. The whole list was posted on Reddit, along with the previously leaked Octane and Wattson. Dataminer Shrugtal discovered the unannounced characters, though what their abilities might be remains a mystery.

EA fell more than 14 percent after hours after reporting its third-quarter 2019 earnings. The company reported a revenue miss of $1.61 billion vs. estimate of $1.75 billion, according to Refinitiv. Earnings were $1.95 per share ex-items compared with the analyst estimate of $1.94 per share, per Refinitiv. Disney Says Its Never Been Good at Video Games, Remains Happy With EA’s Work
The Walt Disney Company has a “good relationship” with Electronic Arts and has no interest in returning to video games, something with which it was never able to “demonstrate much skill,” CEO Bob Iger said in an earnings call Tuesday. “We’re good at making films and television shows and theme parks and cruise ships and the like, we’ve just never managed to demonstrate much skill on the publishing side of games,” Iger said in response to a question about Disney’s potential future involvement in video game development.

Rogue One Writer Says EA Have “Catastrophically Mismanaged” The Star Wars License
Gary Whitta, writer of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, has not minced his words when discussing the recent cancellation of yet another Star Wars game at EA. The title was originally under the directorship of Uncharted’s Amy Hennig but the game, codenamed Ragtag, was reviewed internally and cut back, resulting in Amy leaving the project. Visceral Games, the chaps behind the classic Dead Space who working on the project were shut down and Ragtag became Orca, a much more focused, smaller project. It seems Gary saw the original version of the game and he’s not happy with EA.
