    Judge Swapped Sex and Pills for Freedom

    For four years, an Arkansas judge allegedly offered a secret plea deal to women who appeared in his court: have sex with him and get out of jail free. Judge Tim Parker of Carroll County, Arkansas, resigned in the final days of term last month, after an Arkansas judicial oversight group accused him of letting women out of jail without bond, or trading them cash or prescription pills, in exchange for sexual favors. Parker allegedly conducted his business over jail phones, calling women behind bars, or requesting favors from their family and friends.

    Poachers kill rhino for his horn at French zoo

    A rhino has been shot dead by poachers at a zoo in France in what is believed to be the first such incident in Europe. Keepers found Vince, a four-year-old white rhino, in his enclosure at Thoiry Zoo on Tuesday morning. One of his horns had been hacked off with a chainsaw, police said. The African rhino's horn commands high prices on the black market, with about 100 killed every month in the wild. However, this is thought to be the first time poachers have targeted a rhino living in a European zoo.

    New Peeps-flavored Oreos reportedly turning people's poop pink

    Those new Peeps-flavored Oreos are giving some people a bright pink surprise when they use the bathroom. The limited edition cookies just came out a few weeks ago. The Oreos have a pink marshmallow filling. Complaints are turning up on Twitter that after eating the cookies people's excrement looks like Pepto-Bismol. One person said the Oreo Peeps left a pink stain in the toilet.

    Americans chant ‘Build the wall’ while on vacation in Cancun, Mexico

    Anaximandro and Sully Amable were all set to enjoy a night watching a pirate show on a boat in the waters off of Cancun two weeks ago. Then a group of American spring breakers did their best to ruin the night. Some U.S. vacationers aboard the ship started chanting “build the wall,” in an obvious reference to U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to build a wall along the U.S. border with Mexico, Anaximandro wrote on Facebook in Spanish two weeks ago.

    Va. police arrest sword-wielding man dressed as the Joker

    A 31-year-old man in Virginia was arrested and charged with wearing a mask in public Friday after he was spotted walking around dressed as the iconic comic book supervillain the Joker, police said. Police in Winchester -- located about 75 miles northwest of Washington, D.C. -- said the Winchester Emergency Communications Center received "several calls" around 2 p.m. on Friday of a suspicious male wearing a black cape and carrying a sword walking around the city.

    Nivea pulls 'white is purity' ad that was slammed as racist

    Nivea has withdrawn an ad that was branded racist on social media and shared by right wing groups. The German skincare maker's ad for a deodorant included a picture of a woman and the slogan "white is purity." It was posted on Nivea's Middle East Facebook page with the caption: "Keep it clean, keep it bright. Don't let anything ruin it."

    Maker of smart garage door opener bricks customer's device in retaliation for negative review

    The essential function of a door is to be closed when you want it closed and open when you want it open. Things can get complicated when you start adding internet connectivity to these most basic of objects. Case in point, one man who owns a Garadget smart garage door struck a nerve with his negative Amazon review a few days ago. The creator of Garadget overreacted a teeny bit and deactivated the customer’s door in response. He literally turned his customer’s door into a wall.

    Shop owner causes outrage with sign banning 'black teenagers and dogs'

    An Australian shop owner who put a sign up banning "black teenagers and dogs” has taken it down after it caused widespread outrage. The printed sign in the window of a Melbourne milk bar read: “Statement. Because the 14-18 year old black [sic] always steal. Prohibit 14-18 year-old blacks and dogs into the shop”.  A resident, known as Cam, tweeted a photo of the sign and told 3AW radio of his disbelief. "I don't think anyone in the Melton community would fancy this," he said.

    Off-duty security instructor pepper-sprayed autistic man for eating free cookies, charges say

    He was the training director of one of St. Paul’s largest security companies — a man certified on when and how to use Mace. Which left police mystified as to why Timothy Knutsen would pepper spray an autistic man in the face for eating a cookie from a Cub Foods sampler tray. Knutsen, 53, of St. Paul, has been charged with two counts of fifth-degree assault and disorderly conduct for an incident in Roseville last month.

    Man has sex with woman, then steals her gaming consoles, deputies say

    A man had sex with a woman he had met on the dating site Plenty of Fish, then returned to her home, held the occupants at gunpoint and stole several gaming consoles, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office. The victim said she had sex with Kareem Mutcherson, 23, then around 1 a.m. Monday, he returned to the home on Silver Lane in Ocala armed with a gun and wearing a bandana over his face, the arrest report said.

    A Pakistani boy’s hand was cut off after his employer “taught him a lesson” for demanding food and his salary, according to local media reports. The boy, 13, was reportedly employed by a landlady, identified as Shafqat Bibi, on a salary of 3,000 Pakistani rupees (around $29) to feed cattle and work at her house in Punjab province. Last week, the boy allegedly refused to do his job until the landlady fed and paid him, as he was destitute and starving, 24 News HD channel reported.
