Looking for a set of books that I read when I was a kid.

Hi guys I can't for the life of me remember the name of this series of books. Or at least I think it was a series. I remember the guy had a watch and the watch would do different things like cut stuff with a laser and he could put it up to a door to listen to what was being said inside. Any help would be appreciated.
