It didn't exactly wake me up, but last week it was -10F at my house. I had a nice fire going in the wood stove before I went to bed. Everything was good. Around 3 AM, my dogs woke me up because they needed to pee. This doesn't happen every night, but it's not uncommon. I got up to let them pee, and since I was up, I added some wood to the fire, then let the dogs back inside.
When my alarm went off, I thought it was a bit chilly, but I snoozed a couple times anyway. When I finally got up and started to go downstairs, I saw that the back door was wide open. The fire was still warm, but with the back door wide open, it had dropped to 20 degrees downstairs!
I found out that there was some snow in the door frame, so when I closed the door, it didn't latch. The door must have stayed 'shut' for a little while, but eventually that snow melted and the door opened.

A mouse turd on my pillow about three inches from my nose.
A tree falling on my house. Luckily, there was minimal damage, but it was a pain to remove. :/
A fire alarm in a hotel....false alarm, but unsettling just the same.
I was going to say the severed horse head, but it's just too traumatic to bring up.

The sound of water loudly dripping... on to my bedroom floor.
