Twitter. I used to think it was pretty stupid, but then I made an account out of sheer boredom, started following news outlets/celebs/athletes I like and my opinion has flipped. It's now my preferred social network.

The Hunger Games. I had heard so much about this and was discussing it with a friend who had read the books.
He knew I was not into dystopias, but suggested I make an exception. . I went down to the young adult section of the library and the rest is history.

Kanye West. I used to be super into brooding indie and 90's alt rock almost exclusively, and Kanye represented all that was reprehensible about mainstream music to angry teenage Smackababy. But, a few years ago I started expanding my horizons when it comes to music, and god damn it if The College Dropout isn't one of my favorite albums now.

Harry Potter. I refused to be part of it until a friend and I saw the first movie at a theater. I was hooked.

Downton Abbey. Despite all the popular reviews for it, I had been put off watching it because it seemed soapy and anachronistic, and it's all true... but it's still very enjoyable.

:) same here. I eventually caved in, it's definitely more-ish
