Twitter. I used to think it was pretty stupid, but then I made an account out of sheer boredom, started following news outlets/celebs/athletes I like and my opinion has flipped. It's now my preferred social network.
The Hunger Games. I had heard so much about this and was discussing it with a friend who had read the books.
He knew I was not into dystopias,but suggested I make an exception. . I went down to the young adult section of the library and the
rest is history.
Kanye West. I used to be super into brooding indie and 90's alt rock almost exclusively, and Kanye represented all that was reprehensible about mainstream music to angry teenage Smackababy. But, a few years ago I started expanding my horizons when it comes to music, and god damn it if The College Dropout isn't one of my favorite albums now.
Downton Abbey. Despite all the popular reviews for it, I had been put off watching it because it seemed soapy and anachronistic, and it's all true... but it's still very enjoyable.
