Have any of you ever traveled to an Asian country? If so, what type of food did you eat?

I make it a point to try everything at least once (unless it's particularly inhumane, e.g. live monkey brain). Besides the usual local cuisine, some of the more unusual foods I've tried include: deep fried sparrow, ox penis, frogs, century egg, turtle jelly, bird's nest soup (bird spit), chicken/duck feet and my favourite ... durians :)

I've eaten frog before. It tastes pretty good, at least if you grill it. Are durians really that awful tasting and smelling?

I'd eat everything on that list again if I had the chance ... except ox penis :P The frogs I had were generally stir fried.

Durians are an acquired taste, a little like blue cheese, with a very pungent smell (especially for those that do't like it); you either love it or hate it. If you can get over the smell, the taste is amazing. It's a combination of sweet, creamy with a little bitterness. Delicious.
