Learning Asatru. The beginners Steps

A great many people start off in the quest looking for answers in their spiritual realm. To begin and become heathen is a lot of reading and work. Not to say its hard but because you are starting out, it can be a vast amount of material to cover in order to truly understand your heathen ancestors and the truly inspirational spirituality they held. Think of it more like a journey, had you been taught at a younger age story's and spiritual instances would have flowed naturally, now we just have to take a few summer courses to get caught up to speed.

So where do we begin?

Start with simple story Telling! This is the base in spirituality! Its time to learn the campfire stories. There are many books out there and I recommend reading Children of Odin first. This book gives a basic look into the story's told long ago and since have been passed down generation to generation. Remember like all written work it can and has been translated through generations so don't be discouraged if the readings seem boring, slow, or muddled. Rather take if from a lesson stand point. Asatru is open to interpretation through ones own eyes. Your readings will differ from mine and others but it will always arrive at a truth that all will agree on. We will discuss this at a later time.
