[Request] "Ships passing in the night"

Saw this tribe being promoted over at /t/newtribes, and I figured I'd bite! I'm afraid I can't offer any compensation, but hopefully I get the ball rolling for other people. I'm currently obsessed with the idiom "Ships passing in the night", from a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. It's supposed to symbolize two people who meet only fleetingly. I'm considering getting it as a tattoo, but I can't think of a good design, but I'm sure you guys can!

(P.S., typo in the sidebar - should be hijack instead of highjack!)

Thanks for the typo help lol. I was typing fast and didn't notice. Since I'm the only artist here for now, I can take care of your request What kind of ships would you like? Galleons, modern ships, steamers? Also, I can add the line you like at the bottom of the drawing in scrollwork. This will be in pencil and paper, so is that ok? Feel free to ask for anything :)

PS: nobody is forced or required to offer compensation. This tribe is for people who do this because they love it, not for the money. Money complicates things, don't you think?

Hey, sorry for the super late reply! There's a storm over here, killed my net. I'm thinking renaissance-era ships, so no modern steamers or anything :) And yeah, pencil and paper is fine. I'm just looking for concept art/inspiration!

I love to paint and draw so I might take a stab at this myself if that is alright, I have always wanted a tribe like this where people do art for the sake of art not for money, thanks for setting it up! So excited to get started on this!

I like the monochrome color scheme. Very moody, nice job! I didn't exactly give my version the melancholy vibe he was asking for, but your colors do it for you. Well done :)

Thank you, watercolor is not typically the medium I use but I thought I could use the practice.
