Everything about whatsapp status
With a monthly active user base of over one billion, Whatsapp is easily the largest instant messaging site in the world. Whatsapp launched a new function by the name of 'Status' on its 8th birthday in early February. People are left confused about the idea of 'Status' with all the internet excitement around the feature. Here we are decoding for you the new feature of status messages for WhatsApp:
What does 'Status' mean?
The most recent feature of WhatsApp allows users to set up a status in the form of an image, GIF or video. The fun thing about it is that these statuses will last just 24 hours and be immediately deleted afterwards. Remember how you used to put up and then forget about a cool single-liner as a status. This new feature will not allow you to be inactive on the platform and will still be available. You have to post daily status updates, a fresh one each, if you want to be in people's eyes.
How is it working?
Let us recall for a minute the older edition of WhatsApp. From left to right, three columns were positioned, namely 'Calls',' Chats' and 'Contacts'. You can swipe into the Contacts list to see anyone's text-based status. The columns have been rearranged in the WhatsApp 'Status' update to include a column completely devoted to the status of your contacts. The segment 'Chat' has been transferred to the left and operates just as before. The segment 'Calls' has been shifted to the extreme right.
The entire new update is formed by two new columns. You can display any notifications that your contacts put in the 'Status' section in the centre. If a contact submits more than one status update per day the status will be shown consecutively under the same contact name. Look at the top of the White Bar. The number of sections that it is divided into shows the number of statuses the entity has imposed.
You can simply tap the screen or swipe in any direction you want to turn to switch between these states. When swiping, WhatsApp will show the status of the next person. There is also a 'Mute' option on the top right, which will prevent the contact from displaying any more status in your 'Status' feed.
WhatsApp has added a choice of 'Reply' on the bottom of each status to encourage interactivity among users. This enables you to send a direct message to the person who encapsulates the status to which you are responding.
Now let's concentrate on how a status should be placed up. On the far left, the 'Camera' icon opens up your camera and allows you to easily capture an image, create a video or upload a status from your library. Pictures from your latest WhatsApp chats are also seen in the recommendation bar. Alternatively, you can click on the 'My Status' option at the top under the column 'Status' and set up a new status.
