My brother works as a 3rd party contractor to SoCal gas. He is a pipeline weld inspector. He said the shit that goes on there is fucking scary. He is considering becoming a whistleblower because he said their practices are going to kill people. One example is that they are using an unapproved weld on the pipeline he is inspecting. He told a SoCal Gas supervisor that he can't sign-off on the welds because they were not done according to the specified procedure. He was told, "Your job is to sign-off on this paperwork, not to criticize how we handle our business. If you won't sign this paperwork, we will have your employer get someone out here who will."
