Bitcoin Falls 15% Following FBI’s Silk Road Seizure
Bitcoin is taking it on the chin following the FBI seizure of Silk Road, a popular – and partially hidden – marketplace for drugs and other items generally outside the orbit of the law. As TechCrunch reported earlier today, about $1.2 billion in Bitcoin flowed through Silk Road, resulting in a nearly $80 million commission for the service.

i've seen a few discussions regarding this actually. a lot of people are talking about potentially investing a small amount of money in bitcoins now for the inevitable time that a successor website appears to replace the silk road. if you've paid any attention to the seizure of the silk road whatsoever, it took the government nearly 2 (or maybe 3?) years before they had enough evidence to charge the guy (don't know his name), and he was pretty damn stupid in protecting his identity.
