Bill Browder says Vladimir Putin would like to “kill me like he killed my lawyer Sergei Magnitsky”
Britain-based financier Bill Browder outlined fears that Russian President Vladimir Putin would like to harm him, after being name-checked by the leader in a press conference Monday. ™¡“[Putin] would really like to get his hands on me. He’d like to kill me like he killed my lawyer Sergei Magnitsky eight and a half years ago,” Browder told CNN on Thursday. Browder, 54, ran a successful investment fund in Moscow in the 1990s and early 2000s. He was once a supporter of Putin but fell out of favor when he began criticizing how the government policed corporations. He was barred from the country in 2005.
