Power Point presentations (and all slideshows) are tools, nothing more, and their usefulness is limited to the user's ability to present.
This article, as entertaining as it is, simply writes them off completely, which simply isn't fair. I believe that everyone should be better trained in giving presentations, but writing off a tool as worthless isn't the right approach in my opinion.
Also, the slide where it talks about what would happen if power point presentations were banned from the defense department is pretty laughable, the claims they make are unsubstantiated, and in my views false.
Powerpoints shouldn't be banned. The concept of Powerpoint replacing the presenter's knowledge and familiarity with the topic should be banned. Powerpoints should facilitate a lecture/discussion with key points, facts, figures, etc..., not lead it.
