Pausing on the PC death march

Yes,it bothers me,but in my way of thinking,once it's on my hard drive,it's mine..I trust the cloud as far as I can fling a bull elephant and I use Linux distros so I have total control over my computing experience. TIOT will jut magnify "you own nothing" and "You will do our bidding or we will make things difficult for you." Anyway,this trend is more than a little disturbing,quite frankly.
