Fact Check: Is It Obama's Fault That Poverty Has Grown?
Jeb Bush is (mostly) right when he says the number of people in poverty increased by 6 million under Obama. But that statistic is more complicated than you might think.

What's really interesting about that graph is that Obama's election is apparently an inflection point. It would be tough to prove whether it was going to start turning around with or without him, but it looks pretty clear that 2008 is when the growth in poverty started to decelerate and turn around.
Ad hoc attributions like this is a joke. There's no way to verify or falsify such claims.
