I post this in light of the recent shooting in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Throughout it's history, the US has used its military to make the world safe for capitalism and while Americans fight and die, the wealthy reap great profits. Smedley Butler was a highly decorated General in the marines who became critical of the system upon his death. My favorite Butler quote:
"During those years, I had, as the boys in the back room would say, a swell racket. Looking back on it, I feel that I could have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents."
