This Self-Parking Car Demo Went Terribly Wrong
The car may have lacked the auto-stopping feature. A demo for a self-parking Volvo XC60 did not go as planned last week, when the car plowed into a group of onlookers expecting it to automatically stop. In the video, viewers can see the Volvo slowly rolling backward, pausing, and then abruptly accelerating into two observers watching the demonstration. Luckily, according to the video’s description, the two men seen here were bruised but not seriously hurt.

I think it's important to note that the title may be a little misleading, it was a dealer doing the demonstration, and they may have simply been confused. The article states that: "Volvo believes the dealer in question was trying to demonstrate theXC60’s pedestrian detection feature, an optional $3,000 upgrade which this particular model may have lacked."
If anything I think this speaks to the idea that humans are often the weakest link in the technology we use.
