Only 14% of Russian Airstrikes in Syria Hit Islamic State Targets, Report Says
A mere 14 percent of Russian bombs that fell on Syrian soil in the past three years have reportedly struck Islamic State targets, according to a recent defense industry report. Russia deployed air, ground and naval forces in support of the Syrian army in 2015, four years after the start of the civil war and a year after the United States amassed an anti-Islamic State coalition.

This is news? The Russians were helping Assad take his country back from all anti-government forces including western and Saudi backed rebels. That was the point. It was the civil war that destabilised the country allowing ISIS to flourish in the chaos. Unifying the country one way or the other, is the only way of getting rid of ISIS.
