It probably only broadcasts its heartbeat back to earth with that 10 watts of power, at least that's my guess. Did it say anywhere in the article how its receive system works? I'd have to assume the array they're using to blast data all the way out to Pluto has some serious power and range behind it.

Hell, I won't buy anything without expandable memory. The real dealbreaker for me is the lack of USB, headphone jacks I can get around with Bluetooth accessories, which I'm sure this thing also lacks capability for.

I don't know, I think this whole New Horizons thing is 100% awesome. Seeing a picture of Charon so clearly was breathtaking to me. Like, this is the first time in history that anyone has seen something that small and that far away in such details. It's astonishing.

Hell, I barely trust anyone that considers themselves to be "the smartest person in the room" regardless of their skin color. Bravado and puffery are really disingenuous traits, in my experience.

I have wanted to pick this book up, though. Coates seems like someone that can finally articulate what they're talking about with grace and verisimilitude without talking down to his audience, and that might be because this book was written for his son to understand some of the truth behind race relations.

Hell, people that have manic depression and might be suicidal are considered weak by some for not being able to just "tough it out". People are always scared and cruel toward things they don't understand.

I don't understand why anyone would think this kind of behavior is acceptable. You don't try to ruin someone's livelihood because they fucking disagree with you.
