"When someone is expressing thoughts of suicide, it’s important to get them help as quickly as possible", and thus Facebook is rolling out a system using pattern recognition to identify when someone might be contemplating suicide, or actively livestreaming it. Originally found through this Tweakers article; speculation in the comments for this not coming to the EU is due to EU's privacy laws proooobably not allowing some of the steps facebook wants to take.
