Twitter is Suspending More Than One Million Accounts Per Day in Latest Purge
Apparently sick of being criticized by everyone from US Congress to Seth Rogan for not doing enough to purge its platform of bots, trolls, and malicious foreign actors, Twitter has started liberally dropping the ban hammer on suspicious accounts, suspending more than 70 million users over the course of May and June.

Man, these Purge sequels are getting desperate.
I'm not sure it really matters either way. I'd estimate that 99% of Twitter users don't bother reading other people's tweets, they care more about getting followers and tweeting about their stuff. IMHO Tumblr needs to do more on spam control than Twitter does.
