I used to live in Morehead City NC,which is a tiny tourist town and gateway to one of the barrier island hot spots.(Emerald isle)..And yeah,it was like that..Tourists meandering about blocking traffic,taking pictures. It was not a good idea to try to go anywhere during the 4th of July or the seafood festival. People would be cheek to jowl on the beach and the traffic was horrific...We only went to the beach in early Sept. around 5pm which is when the hordes went to eat.
