When quantum computing comes more in the reach of people (read: affordable, mostly), combined with findings from the article, we are heading for something way bigger than the industrial revolution ever can account for. When it is possible to simulate a network the size of the world wide web in a melting time crystal, it doesn't seem far off to run an actual network that size in the same crystal. That's dazzling.. Star Trek is more and more becoming, one way or another, a reality.
