What advantages does the curved screen bring? More strength so it's harder to smash?
Probably better grip and more easier for your finger to reach the corners.
Oh and probably hugs the leg better when in your pocket.

Until it's flexible and can be set into different configurations, this is basically useless. I think they did this so that they can get people thinking they are on the cutting edge of display technology, while it's nothing innovative.
