TIL that the Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man was invented as an art project for the opening ceremony of the 1996 Summer Olympics
An airdancer is a large inflatable device comprising a long tube attached to a fan which causes the tube to move in a dancing or flailing motion; some variants may resemble humans with tube arms. Airdancers are generally called an inflatable tube or a moving figure, such as "windyman", "skydancer", "tube man" and "flyguy"; the phrase "Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man" has also become a popular name for the decorations after originating in an episode of Family Guy
