I doubt the US govt will let him walk. Unfortunately they need to make an example of him to deter future whistle blowers from doing the same thing.
Yep, and they let him off on the main charge because in the end it doesnt even matter, he can still face 100+ years in prison. This way they lessen the blow and make the public a little less pissed off.
