Not knocking this but I would love to see it addressed as more than just a racism issue. This is a power-struggle between police and citizens issue. I know she is young, female and black, but she was a human being who deserved to be treated like a human. Not a symbol of an agenda of any kind other than the human condition.

Couldn't agree more. It does go into a limited sampling of the proportions. It also reflects how poorly the data is kept and how sometimes websites skew the data by including justified killings vs. unjustified killings. It breaks down several different sites that reflect homicides via law enforcement and how they treat the issues.
We would have to go so deep into the statistics beyond the proportions to reflect the wholly lopsided criminal justice system and break down the statistics of whites vs blacks accused of crimes in America vs. convicted of crimes...it could go on and on. I definitely would not argue with the numbers being skewed and nearly impossible to decipher. But, as I said: I want people to be treated as people.

One of the reasons white racism exists is because we refuse the human condition that we are "just people". I know that is a much bigger thing than I am going to hash out on snapzu today, but it's true. The more we persist to separate races, the more we foster racism. And discrimination at large keeps getting fostered through the same processing.

I know. I'm not disagreeing with it. I'm following a case in Georgia that has been off the radar. Young black adult killed in a school and no way to tell how etc. it's crazy. I just want people to be recognized as people. That's all.

Here's a quick snap: Police kill more whites than blacks, but minority shootings cause more outrage
It's fairly linked up to stats. It's a little biased. Still, provides an overview.

Wow. This explains so much for me. Thanks for sharing. I knew I couldn't just be crazy. I do not do well in break-up situations.
This is buried in there too. Link about The Best Way to Recover from a Breakup

I had that same thought. My daughter (11) was asking me about Bee's and cell phones this weekend. It's actually quite fascinating the lack of information that is available as to how we are destroying them vs. how many ways we are destroying them.

Wholeheartedly agreed. And those are likely folks who have already provided some level of sacrifice in the form of attorneys fees, etc.

Rhetorical snarl? Or would you like me to link you in. I'll be glad to compose the stats. I'm sure that it's lopsided but my point is about human beings. And their treatment by police.

The criminal justice system. It's such a wonkey mess.

I actually started reading about this industry. I guess it's an industry, telecomms for prisons. I was reading about it because of the podcast Serial. I was pretty surprised at how much money it generates vs. what it actually does. These guys are cleaning out prisoners families for basic communications.
