Hopefully the term socialist won't be such a bad word anymore.
I think things will change fast in the US. Older generations were able to become independent much sooner than now, and a large number of them were able to buy their own houses, buy a nice car, and that created the illusion that being a millionaire was something just around the corner, newer generations don't have that illusion.
