Death toll rises in southern Colorado sheep DUI crash
The Colorado State Patrol has increased the sheep death toll in a San Luis Valley hit-and-run crash this week in which they say a drunken driver killed dozens of animals. Captain George A. Dingfelder said Friday at last check 42 sheep died in the Rio Grande County wreck. Officials initially said 38 were killed and 12 injured. Lynn Ann Michel, 47, of Monte Vista, was arrested in the case. The State Patrol says she was westbound on Rio Grande County Road 8 South when she ran into the flock.
