Indians Beat Royals for ALDS Home-Field Edge

Following a 3-2 win over the Royals on Sunday afternoon at Kauffman Stadium, the Indians had to sit and wait for the results of the Blue Jays-Red Sox game in Boston before knowing whether they'd clinched home-field advantage in the American League Division Series against Boston. Once the Red Sox fell at Fenway, AL Central-champion Cleveland knew it would be hosting Game 1 of the best-of-5 ALDS on Thursday, Game 2 on Friday, and a potential Game 5, if necessary, on Oct. 12.
