The hula has been relevant for my whole life, born 1970. My now 18 year old daughter went to a circus at aged 8 and was inspired by the 'hula hoop lady' who amazingly could hula easily 20 at a time. Both my daughters always used them. Now they use them as part of their work out routines. Sadly, I have never mastered it myself and look like a seal trying to salsa when I make any attempt. But woohoo for others just discovering this fun, inexpensive, challenging pass time.
