My immediate thought after watching this was the seagulls from Finding Nemo. I don't live near the coast, so I don't have a lot of experience with seagulls. Anyone know if this is common behave from them? Are gulls just kleptomaniacs?

After a little research I found out, yes, they are indeed kleptos. Provided my evidence under "related links."

No problem! I learned something and had to share. These little gulls are excellent scavengers, even if some of their stolen goods are inedible.

I used to fish in Lake Erie(not anymore) and sometimes they would grab the hook.

I wonder why he did that. Did he think it was food?

Living close to Lake Erie I have seen many seagulls. They are always looking for more food so you are right about thinking it was food.I can also tell you if a flock of gulls flies over you cover your head.
